Da Vlaid, Aka Mr. Kodak was born July 5, 1928 in Fort National in the Kabyle Mountains of Algeria. He formed Studio Kodak and became the first studio owner in Fort National.

Inspired by the international photography laboratories such as Lumiere or Agfa, He opted to become a Kodak agent. He documented with a SIMPLEX camera the first Algerian National parade on November 1st, 1962 in Algiers. He loves the subjects of village life particularly village families, school portraits and Algerian immigrants living in France.

He is a respected photographer of classical studio portrait and immigrant life style of his era. From 1970 to the mid 1980's, Da Vlaid travelled between various regions of France and his studio in Laarva Nath Irathen, Algeria.
